Couture2011Fall: Givenchy's Dark-side of All White

I think I might have a fashion orgasm. The sheer silks, in stark silhouettes, fine details, in a monochromatic collection... Ay, ya ya!!

Who: Riccardo Tisci
What: Givenchy
Wear: Fall 2011 Haute Couture
Rating: Reminiscent of elegant swans. Color + Shape + Texture... Delicious!

Simple color palette, fabric continuity and extravagant detailed handwork was the formula Riccardo Tisci pulled off for the 10 piece Haute Couture collection for the Givenchy Fall 2011 couture show held yesterday in Paris. Don't let the subtle and understated white mislead your curiosity. Tisci geniously  plays with tulle, tiger eye pearls, and crystals to suggest ostrich skin in one gown. While in others cutouts, peekaboo fringe, hand curled feathers, and degrede beading that changed colors and went from shiny to matte all play major parts in the successful collection. I'm personally rating it a success!
